We would like to introduce the newest member of our staff.
His name is King and he works in our customer relations department. His main job is greeting clients and making them feel welcome. King takes over the job Cooper had for many years. Many of you already know that Cooper died in March this year at the age of 15. He had a long and happy life and left big shoes (paws) for King to fill.
King came to us from Golden Retriever Rescue of North Texas. Take a look at their website (www.goldenretrievers.org), especially if you are interested in a great companion.
King is 7 years old. He had lived with his litter mate for over six years. The family that owned him just decided they didn’t want dogs anymore. Hard to believe as he is a gentle, kind, and loving boy. He is pretty healthy now after being on a diet for a few months. He came to rescue at 125 pounds, he is now down to about 90. The weight loss has energized him greatly.
Visitors to the shop receive an enthusiastic greeting now. Here is King with our young friend Rhett.
At first he was a little reluctant to greet people. I don’t think he received much human contact in his previous home. Toys and playing didn’t interest him much. If we threw a toy, he expected us to retrieve it. After just a few weeks, he realized that people would pay attention to him if he greeted them. And, with his new energy level, play time is a little more active.
Our UPS driver and FedEx driver both visit regularly and bring treats. King would love for you to visit as well – no treat required.
